Episode 5 of 5

Officers on Skye are tipped off about a resident suspected of possessing an illegal weapon, and dangerous winds in Harris cause a road traffic incident.

Officers on Skye are tipped off about a resident suspected of possessing an illegal weapon, and a warrant to search his property leads them to uncover further dangerous items.

Meanwhile, on Orkney, Sgt Hay is as likely to see people in the queue for the supermarket as he is at the station, as policing these rural communities requires a deft approach. This is demonstrated as he responds to a fatal accident involving a fisherman hitting trouble in turbulent waters, then, later in the day, he attends the annual horse march, an Orcadian tradition that goes back centuries.

Blustery weather on Harris forces a car to swerve off the road into a nearby field, showing the potential dangers this wild landscape can offer. The weather causes further chaos in Stornoway, as Storm Corrie blows in, causing huge waves, falling trees, and the roof to be blown off an island airport. Further north, the weather is calm but freezing, and a canny spot by a vigilant officer spares a drunk man from coming to harm while sleeping rough in a doorway.
