A former head of the British Army, General Sir Mike Jackson, has questioned whether the treatment of the group known as the Hooded Men amounted to torture.
A former head of the British Army has questioned whether the treatment of 14 men interned during the Troubles amounted to torture. The group, known as the Hooded Men, were among hundreds interned without trial in 1971. General Sir Mike Jackson made the remarks in a 麻豆社 documentary detailing the men's experiences. One of the men, Liam Shannon, gave his reaction to the comments to the News at One.
