Dave and Alex from blur join Steve Lamacq live this afternoon to chat about their 2023 show at Wembley Stadium which was announced only this morning. The band will be playing a very special show at London鈥檚 Wembley Stadium on 8th July next year, their only UK appearance and first headline show since 2015.
Speaking on the announcement Damon Albarn said 鈥 鈥淲e really love playing these songs and thought it's about time we did it again.鈥
Graham Coxon said 鈥 鈥淚鈥檓 really looking forward to playing with my blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs鈥 blur live shows are always amazing for me. A nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces鈥︹
Since announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, blur went on to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with six successive UK #1 albums and a string of Top 10 singles, including two No 1s with Country House and Beetlebum. They are one of the biggest British bands of the last three decades and Dave and Alex join Steve today to chat about coming back together to play this, one off, special gig.
