Rugby league is the national sport for The Kumuls – as PNG are also known – and in a group with three Pacific nations in it, pride and territorial bragging rights are also at stake.
The Cook Islands come to Britain with happy memories of the northern hemisphere – they grabbed their first World Cup win, a 28-24 victory over Wales, in the Principality in 2013.
