The Catalan avant-garde composer selects an hour of music exploring different moods and genres of piano compositions from around the world. Flamenco, jazz, classical and melancholic 1960s Greek pop from the likes of Chano Dominguez, Claude Debussy, Takashi Yoshimatsu and Danai to name a few.
Marina Herlop is a classically trained pianist and experimental producer based in Barcelona. Her latest album, Pripyat is out now on the cult PAN label and is her first venture into composing music electronically. It combines atmospheric glitchy electronic production, melodic piano, off-kilter rhythms and lyrics in an imagined language.
