The links course at Muirfield has hosted the men鈥檚 Open 16 times, most recently in 2013, when Phil Mickelson claimed his first Claret Jug, but this will be the first time the women鈥檚 championship has been contested there. Sweden鈥檚 Anna Nordqvist is the defending champion.
