Ian McKellen on bringing Hamlet to Edinburgh, plus a celebration of Neighbours, & Kate Bush fans

Nicola chats Hamlet and Gandalf with Ian McKellen, ahead of his return to the Edinburgh Festivals.

Much-loved sunny soap Neighbours is coming to an end. Erinsborough no more. But Nicola isn't going to let the soap go without a celebration of nearly 40 years and 9,000 episodes of whacky stories and unhinged characters. Aussie Kelly Fogarty and TV critic Scott Bryan will be previewing the finale, looking back on romances, plane crashes, and Dr Karl Kennedy, and Nicola will be bringing you a choice selection of music from Neighbours alumni.

In our special two-part chat with Ian McKellen, Nicola explores his first visit to Edinburgh in 1969 and the controversy that a gay kissed caused. We cover him falling in love with performing, the magic of the festival, and his dance version of Hamlet at the Ashton Hall, St. Stephens.
