HAAI is Teneil Throssell. She moved to London to make a go of her rock band, but when they split around 2016, she began spinning Turkish rarities. This set her on the path to DJing success, and she won the Radio 1 essential mix of the year in 2018. The natural progression was to develop into making her own music.
