Programme 4, 2022
Scotland take on Wales in the fiendish cryptic quiz, chaired by Kirsty Lang.
(4/12)
Scotland take on Wales in this week's contest. Will they have a clue why a Scottish Tractor Boy, a film in which a fly causes a wrongful arrest, and Bertholletia excelsia, might find themselves surprisingly close to France? If not, Kirsty Lang is on hand to provide helpful hints - but the more help she gives them the fewer points they'll get for their efforts. Val McDermid and Alan McCredie appear for Scotland, and Myfanwy Alexander and David Edwards for Wales.
The programme includes the usual generous scattering of question ideas received from listeners over the past year or so.

Last week's teaser question
Kirsty asked: If 'the Father of the Poor' provides a home for Lionel Messi, and often competes with the patron of headaches, why might you languish on a beach with the patron of Pisa, or head for somewhere more bracing to meet the patron of pig-keepers?
This was about place names in France named for patron saints. 'The Father of the Poor' is a phrase sometimes applied to St Germain, after whom the Paris suburb and famous football team are named. Lionel Messi now plays there, and their regular opponents in the French football league include St Etienne, named for St Stephen who is (among other things) the patron saint of headaches.聽
The patron saint of Pisa is St Torpes, somewhat obscure except that he is remembered in the name of the beach resort St Tropez. And the patron saint of pig-keepers is also little known, but gives his name to a more northerly French coastal town, St Malo.
We'll try to make the next one easier.
