Live coverage from Beijing continues with the first medals of the Games awarded in cross-country skiing, while GB’s mixed doubles team continue their quest for gold in curling.

Britain’s Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds are the mixed doubles world champions in curling so will be hoping for a medal in China, but first they have to negotiate the round-robin stage – today’s opponents are the Czech Republic, whom they comfortably beat in their final Games warm-up event.

Meanwhile, the honour of becoming the first gold medallist in Beijing is decided in the women’s 15km skiathlon. Before the women's 3000m speed skating champion is crowned.
