Lone Rangers

Jennifer Lucy Allan goes it alone with a focus on music made by a single instrument, with trombone solos, solitary viola experiments and unencumbered electric guitar explorations.

Jennifer Lucy Allan goes it alone with a focus on music made with a single instrument. There鈥檒l be new releases by the likes of New York鈥檚 Jessica Pavone on solo viola and 鈥榤asterful electric guitar abuser鈥 Emily Robb, as well as older experiments including composer George Lewis's early trombone solos, and saxophone love songs from Peter Br枚tzmann.

Elsewhere in the show Jen plays the sound of elastic bands on a lacquered box by Australian instrument inventor Ernie Althoff, and a new collaboration for winds, keyboards and a tape machine from multi-instrumentalists Robbie Lee and Lea Bertucci.

Produced by Katie Callin.
A Reduced Listening production for 麻豆社 Radio 3.
