It's a Scream!

With the release of the fifth film in the Scream franchise, Matthew Sweet reflects on the history and art of screaming in films alongside music from Jaws to King Kong.

With the release of the fifth film in the 鈥楽cream鈥� franchise this week, boasting a new score from Brian Tyler, Matthew Sweet foregrounds that whilst reflecting on the overall history and art of the film scream. The programme features music from Brian Tyler and Marco Beltrami and also cues from Jaws, Psycho, Invasion of The Body Snatchers, Distant Drums, King Kong, and others. Matthew looks at the story of the classic 鈥榃ilhelm Scream鈥� and talks with actress Ashley Peldon - Hollywood scream doyenne - about how she produces the right scream for the right screen moment.
