Mercury Music Prize 2021 winner Arlo Parks takes over the 6 Music airwaves playing a selection of her favourite new musical discoveries, some familiar favourites and the odd festive treat, including tracks by Yo La Tengo, Beach house and MF DOOM and the final 30 minutes of the show is a dedicated 80s office party playlist, featuring classics of the era including tracks from Prince, David Bowie and Tina Turner. Arlo Parks is a British singer-songwriter and poet from West London. She released her debut EP in April 2019 and was longlisted as a breakthrough act in the annual poll of music critics, 麻豆社 Sound Of, in 2020. Her debut studio album Collapsed in Sunbeams was released in 2021 to critical claim, peaking at Number 3 on the UK Albums Chart. As well as winning her the Mercury Music Prize in September this year, the album was also nominated for Album of the Year at the 2021 Brit Awards. She also received Brit Award nomination for Best New Artist and Best British Female Solo Artist this year.
