At ‘Hame’ across the sea, how to assemble a Lambeg drum, re-introducing poet Robert Dinsmoor and ‘champ rules’!

At hame across the narrow sea, the mysteries of a Lambeg drum assembly, the Rustic Bard of New Hampshire’s local roots and how to make proper champ.

Mark Thompson joins the Kintra team this week – he’s just hame from filming “Hame” in Scotland and gives a wee hint of what to expect in the next series. Helen Mark’s been chatting with Alister McReynolds about local roots and work of poet Robert Dinsmoor – the “Rustic Bard of New Hampshire”. Rab Lennox continues on his journey of discovery in the world of Lambeg drums by getting to grips with how one is assembled for playing. There’s also an out-take from the chat with chef Paula McIntyre from a few weeks ago when the ever-confident Willie Hill took it on himself to share his wisdom on the making of champ. The team won’t let him forget that in a hurry!
The Kintra folk love to hear from listeners on any subject of interest to the Ulster-Scots community – events to promote, stories or ideas – even your own champ-making tips. You can reach them at kintra@bbc.co.uk
