Ep 504 - #6musicfestival is GO!

Shaun has live #6musicfestival tracks from Black Country New Road, Dry Cleaning and Laura Marling. Catch up on all the sets via 麻豆社 Sounds and watch via the 麻豆社 iplayer.

We may not be able to enjoy live music in venues at the moment, but that doesn't mean you can't experience some stellar sets from the comfort of your own home. This weekend the 6 Music Festival 2021 will bring brand-new live performances from some of music's hottest names, plus classic sets from previous years, on air on 6 Music and available on 麻豆社 Sounds and 麻豆社 iPlayer.

The 2021 festival will include nine new performances from the likes of Bicep, Michael Kiwanuka, and Laura Marling, all filmed at the astounding Alexandra Palace in London, as well as sets filmed in the 麻豆社 Radio Theatre in 麻豆社 Broadcasting House from Shame, Dry Cleaning, Black Country, New Road and more.

These brand new sets will be made available in full on 麻豆社 iPlayer and 麻豆社 Sounds from TODAY.

And to celebrate, Shaun has live music from Black Country New Road, Dry Cleaning and Laura Marling.

Plus, our resident poet Murray Lachlan Young joins with another poem to wrap up the week. There is a final play of our Liked and Shared track of the week - this week it's the new single from WheelUP called Take Me Higher. Danny Wheeler is the West London multi-talented artist behind the pseudonym WheelUP and he says of his latest outing: 鈥淭ake Me Higher is about pushing yourself up to the next level, out of your comfort zone and discovering new things in life鈥

Shaun is after your Middle Age Shout Outs and another caller joins for Small Claims Court.

All this is of course soundtracked by the greatest playlist in music radio, and includes GoldSoundz 鈥 30 minutes of 6 Music bangers at the start of the programme.
