Julian Joseph presents highlights from this year鈥檚 麻豆社 Young Jazz Musician competition, with live music from the finalists and a topflight rhythm section of pianist Nikki Yeoh, bassist Michael Mondesir and drummer Mark Mondesir.

Also in the programme, trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey shares some of the music that inspires her. Alongside her solo work under the name Ms Maurice, Maurice-Grey leads Afrobeat collective KOKOROKO and plays with the septet Nerija and Mercury-nominated group SEED Ensemble. Her choices reflect her love for African and Latin American rhythms as well as jazz tradition.
