Brian Eno's soundtrack work has spanned five decades and includes hundreds of pieces used in films, documentaries and television shows including more than 20 complete scores for some of the best known directors in the world. From early collaborations with Derek Jarman to classic films like David Lynch’s Dune, Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting, Jonathan Demme’s Married to the Mob, and Michael Mann’s Heat. He has also scored extensively for television, including all three series of award-winning UK crime drama Top Boy.
Miranda Sawyer speaks to him about his body of work ahead of the release of Film Music 1976 – 2020 – his first ever collection of music from his film and television soundtrack oeuvre which includes some previously unreleased compositions.
