Kevin Le Gendre presents live music from US pianist Aaron Diehl. A prodigious talent, known for tackling both jazz and classical repertoire, Diehl has collaborated with many of America鈥檚 top orchestras, as well as Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson and Philip Glass. Backed by his trio of bassist Paul Sikivie and drummer Aaron Kimmel, he performs a selection of jazz piano classics, including tunes by Horace Silver and Mary Lou Williams.
Also in the programme, Regina Carter, one of the world鈥檚 leading jazz violinists, shares some of the music that inspires her, including a track by an undersung great of the instrument.
