A Charlie Parker centenary special featuring Sheila Jordan, Django Bates, Nathaniel Facey, Alan Barnes and Delfeayo Marsalis.

Julian Joseph presents a J to Z special celebrating the music of Charlie Parker, the legendary altoist and bebop pioneer who would have been 100 on the 29th of August 2020. Vocal great Sheila Jordan (a close friend of Parker), maverick pianist Django Bates, trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis and altoists Nathaniel Facey and Alan Barnes share stories and insights into their favourite Parker tunes and Julian plays some classics of his own, along with contemporary recordings that illustrate the full extent of Bird鈥檚 musical legacy and influence.
