Episode 4 of 6

Discussions on the reopening of the hospitality industry, how to make a proper cup of tea, homelessness in a pandemic and who would make it into our social bubble.

In this week’s episode we discuss the story that got the country talking – bars are back in business. Yes, it’s true, it was announced this week that the opening of the hospitality industry has been brought forward to the 3 July which has left the nation gasping for its first pint. We also celebrated the news that social bubbles would be coming into effect soon; though many of us have been left confused by what that means. We learn that cancer treatment was down by over 50% which has led us to worry about the massive influx of non-covid treatments post lockdown and if the NHS will be prepared. Social media is rocked with an American woman’s attempt at making British tea; this leads to us all to question what exactly is the right way to make the perfect cup of tea... one of life’s biggest questions. The UK was also taken aback this week by the images of contentious statues being torn down, leading us to debate how these people should be recorded in history. Finally, we examine how art and culture have been transformed due to the pandemic and how artists must adapt quickly with how we consume their content.
