Viola soul
Fiona Talkington presents French violist Lise Berthaud and pianist compatriot David Saudubray playing viola sonatas by Schubert and Brahms at Wigmore Hall in London.
From Wigmore Hall, London.
The acclaimed French viola-player Lise Berthaud is joined by pianist compatriot David Saudubray to perform two major sonatas that were originally conceived for other instruments. While Schubert's much-loved Arpeggione Sonata was written for the bowed guitar after which it is named, and has been transcribed for cello amongst other instruments, Brahms's Sonata was originally written for clarinet.
Presented by Fiona Talkington.
