As MLAs refuse a pay rise where is the money to pay for Stormont deal?
The Assembly Commission is to meet today to discuss a request to halt a pay rise for MLAs.
Yesterday, the five main Stormont parties said they shared public dismay about the decision to boost their salaries by 拢1,000.
The pay is due to rise from 拢49,500 to 拢50,500 under rules set by the Independent Financial Review Panel.
And they're due another 拢500 rise in April. Assembly members have no input to the panel's decisions on pay and expenses.
Some MLAs have already offered to donate their increase to charity.
Joining Stephen was the commentator Amanda Ferguson,
the former Sinn Fein MLA Daithi McKay, Mick Fealty from Slugger O'Toole
and Alan McQuillan, a former member of the Independent Financial Review Panel.
Also on the programme, NIPSA confirm strike tomorrow over civil servant pay.
