Corey Mwamba looks ahead to Birmingham鈥檚 Ideas of Noise festival, which champions sound art, noise and adventurous improvisation. This year鈥檚 line-up includes the premiere of Oli Brice鈥檚 new group with saxophonist Paul Dunmall, and New York drummer Tom Rainey鈥檚 trio with Mary Halvorson and Ingrid Laubrock. Plus, pianist Daniel Bernardes brings Messiaen鈥檚 compositional processes to the 21st century via his piano trio and percussion ensemble, on his latest album Liturgy of the Birds.
