Martin guides us through his favourite music from the 1980s. With tracks from Stevie Wonder, The Waitresses, Cocteau Twins and Jungle Brothers.

He returns to 6 Music to present a series of six three hour-long programmes between Christmas and New Year. As we head towards 2020, Martin will spend each day focussing on a different decade from the 1960鈥檚 to now, playing you some of the music that he loves from each era.

From 1pm each afternoon, he begins with the Sixties (26th December), with the Seventies (27th Dec), the Eighties (28th Dec), the Nineties (29th Dec), Noughties (30th Dec) and finally the Tens on New Year鈥檚 Eve.

A self-confessed music obsessive, Martin has dug deep into his record collection to bring listeners the tracks that mean something to him. He鈥檒l also be taking a look back at the stories and cultural moments from each decade, picking a soundtrack from one of his favourite films each day, and selecting an album from each decade that he thinks deserves an extra bit of light. There鈥檒l also be some interview and session highlights from the 麻豆社 archive to enjoy as he moves through the years.
