Kick Starting Art Is Everywhere... with Isamaya Ffrench
We continue our Art is Everywhere celebrations with the make up artist Isamaya Ffrench, who is probably the most in-demand artist in her field right now.
We continue our Art is Everywhere celebrations with the make up artist Isamaya Ffrench, who is probably the most in demand artist in her field right now. With a background in design and dance, it was a part time career painting kid's faces at parties, which paved the way for Isamaya to become creative director of Dazed Beauty, and a global makeup ambassador. Isamaya's work isn't about contouring or creating the perfect brow, she uses her brushes like a modern artist uses theirs, pushing the boundaries of beauty and art and expanding what make up can achieve. Her work graces the covers of the biggest publications in the world (she created the iconic look for Rihanna's cover for the 2018 September issue of British Vogue) and she the faces of musicians including Yves Tumor and Marilyn Manson
The remit for Art Is Everywhere this year is very simple as we ask you, our listeners to share your art work with us. It can be something you make whilst listening to the show or in the words of Blue Peter, it can be one you made earlier. Whether it's a photo, a painting, a scarf, or a sculpture, share your creativity with us on Twitter using #6MusicArt.
On Tuesday the 3rd of December, we will broadcast live from the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate, tying in directly with the 2019 Turner Prize. A selection of the best entries will be projected into the gallery on Tuesday 3rd of December so if you share your art with us it may be featured:
• On the 6Music homepage
• On the Â鶹Éç Arts website
• A selection of the best entries will also be projected into Turner Contemporary in Margate, where we will be broadcasting our show in front of a live audience.
Please only share your own original art work. All people featured in the art work must be 16 or over.
