But apparently they still do it in the Gransha Social Club, says Eddie O'Donnell. Mickey Todd remembers shouts of 'one singer one song!' if someone else in the bar decided to join in.
When Rose was a child in Dublin she went round the houses asking people to 'Help The Halloween Party' by giving her nuts and apples.
For months after Halloween monkey nuts were found in the drawers of Sean's house when he was a wee boy. In some houses with Brazil nuts there was an argument over who had the hammer next.
