'When I was 16 I joined the Provisional IRA." An emotive and challenging interview as one Derry man tells Nolan why he joined the IRA after Bloody Sunday.

You are about to hear chilling, uncomfortable thought-provoking radio, which some of you will find offensive. A man calling himself Eamonn contacted Nolan yesterday justifying, in his head, why he joined the IRA. The context for this is important. Peter Taylor, the veteran journalist, said in his 麻豆社 documentary last night that if had been a teenage boy during Bloody Sunday, he probably would have joined the IRA. Peter Taylor told the Nolan Show yesterday that he has never and would never support the IRA. But there has been criticism of the veteran journalist. The DUP's Sir Jeffrey Donaldson said he was appalled by Peter Taylor's reasoning. But what you are about to hear will stimulate debate around whether there is substance in the wider point Peter Taylor was making. This man was a boy when he witnessed Bloody Sunday. We also got reaction from veteran civil rights campaigner Eamonn McCann, Irish News journalist Allison Morris, victims' campaigner Kenny Donaldson, TUV leader Jim Allister and we took your calls.
