Episode 3

Doctor Ian and paramedic Nikki see the human consequences of youth violence when they attend a 13-year-old who has been stabbed and two young men who鈥檝e been shot.

The Bafta award-winning series returns, following a whole new cast of characters drawn from the staff of North West Ambulance Service in Greater Manchester.

Doctor Ian and paramedic Nikki see the human consequences of youth violence when they attend a 13-year-old who has been stabbed in the chest and two young men who鈥檝e been shot.

In the control room, the team are receiving over 100 calls per hour. Call handler Graham takes an urgent 999 call from two children aged 11 and 15 who are calling because their grandmother has fallen ill. Graham must talk them both through how to do CPR in order to help them save her life.

With the night showing no signs of slowing down, April and Claire are dispatched to a patient they have already attended earlier in the night, who is now reported to be throwing glass at the neighbours. This time the patient agrees to be assessed but is still reluctant to take their offers of help.

The calls continue to flood in, including reports of an 18-year-old homeless male who is feeling suicidal, a patient with PTSD who has developed a chronic chest infection, and a man who is carrying a large rock and hitting himself with it. When the crew arrive on scene of the latter, they find all is not what it seems.
