James Burke joins Aled Jones
To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, another chance to hear Aled in conversation with broadcaster James Burke who commentated on that historic event.
Aled is in conversation with writer and broadcaster James Burke. Exactly fifty years ago in July 1969, James was the face and voice of the Apollo 11 moon landing as he guided British TV audiences through that historic event.
James tells Aled about the experience of commentating on the mission for hours at a time alongside Patrick Moore. He also recalls how he made the journey from studying Middle English at Oxford and teaching English in Italy to becoming one of our leading science broadcasters through series like ‘Tomorrow’s World’, ‘The Burke Special’ and ‘Connections’.
Aled finds himself in a fascinating conversation with a polymath, now in his eighties, whose love of ideas and art, history and music shows no sign of diminishing.
