Ian Anderson chooses his Rock God

Ian Anderson - the man who brought the flute to rock! The Jethro Tull frontman chooses his ultimate Rock God, plus Johnnie takes a look at This Week in Rock .

Ian Anderson, rock's only frontman-flautist (we think), chooses his ultimate Rock God for Johnnie. Ian's band, Jethro Tull, were in the thick of the British heavy blues-rock movement at the end of the 1960s. By the early 1970s, they were selling out tours across the USA and playing multiple nights at New York's Madison Square Garden, not to mention breaking ground with their unique concept albums. Ian is still at the forefront of Tull and the band celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. Also on the show, Johnnie takes a look at 'This Week In Rock'. The musical landscape is littered with anniversaries and events which were crucial to the development of our beloved genre. So, each week Johnnie will highlight a landmark in rock history, courtesy of the 麻豆社 Archives. Also on the show, the week's best new rock releases and as many classic tracks we can crowbar into an hour!
