Donald Tusk: Special place in hell for Brexiteers without a plan. With weeks to go to leaving the EU has diplomacy been thrown out the window?
The European Council President, Donald Tusk, is being asked to apologise following remarks he made about Brexiteers yesterday. He will be one of those meeting Theresa May today when she returns to Brussels later to press EU leaders for legally binding changes to the Brexit deal. The PM will insist the UK will not be "trapped" in the backstop - the plan to avoid the return of Irish border checks should no UK-EU trade deal be in place.
