Iggy Pop presents a Christmas Confidential Special with a festively themed live session from Mediaeval Baebes.

Conceptualised by Katharine Blake, formerly of Miranda Sex Garden, the group was formed in 1996.

They source lyrics from mediaeval and romantic texts whilst setting them to original scores using mediaeval and folk instruments. The songs are performed in an array of obscure and ancient languages, offering a beguiling musical beauty and ethereal talent.

On the other hand, Iggy Pop completely pre-empted the thrust and energy of punk at the tail-end of the 60s with his group The Stooges. Ups and downs followed as did a very good solo career including key works with David Bowie, Don Was and Josh Homme. Nowadays he's the frontman's frontman with a voice for radio.
