Medical advances - should ethics be a side issue in the search for breakthroughs? Every decade, in fact almost every year, brings advances in medical science. We learn this month about babies being born in wombs transplanted from dead women. Yet stem cell research and gene editing are still considered by some to have crossed an ethical line. Are the ethics of today in need of coming into line with the 21st century? Indeed, should science disregard ethics when embarking on research?
