A DUP Councillor says a Waterside community worker is lucky to be alive after a gunman opened fire on his van last night. David Ramsey says the attack happened in the Bond's Street area and the target worked for a local restorative justice project called Resolution North West.

Police investigating the murder of 52-year-old Edward Meenan in Derry have arrested a 19-year-old man. A 51-year-old year man arrested has been released on bail pending further inquiries. Police have been given an additional 36 hours to question a 35-year-old woman. Two other men remain in custody. All five were arrested on suspicion of murder. Mr Meenan's body was found in an alleyway on Creggan Street early on Sunday morning.
