Broadcaster and journalist Mariella Frostrup drops in to chat to Jo and Simon about her new Â鶹Éç1 one-off programme 'The Truth About Menopause'.
The menopause currently affects 13 million women in the UK, and yet it’s wildly misunderstood. What can the latest science tell us about what it is – and what we can do about it?
Mariella first became aware of the shame and secrecy surrounding the subject during her own menopause. Now in this personal film she wants to bring this great taboo out into the open. She meets the scientists who have uncovered the cause of hot flushes - and developed a brand new drug to treat them. She finds out if taking hormone replacement therapy is dangerous. She discovers if men also have a menopause, and witnesses a cutting-edge procedure that could actually reverse the menopause.
Bringing you the best of both worlds, Jo Whiley and Simon Mayo join forces to bring you three hours of the greatest guests, music and early evening entertainment. With top names from the worlds of film, TV and online, plus regular live sessions from the hottest names in music, Jo and Simon will bring you entertaining and compelling celeb chat each evening. Plus there'll be audience interaction, the freshest new music and great chat to accompany you in the early evening - whatever you're doing.
