Barbara Sands and Norman Wilson
Colum Arbuckle's guests in the studio are Barbara Sands and Norman Wilson. He also visits Prehen House in Londonderry to hear the story of former resident Baron Von Scheffler.
Colum chats to Barbara Sands and Norman Wilson. Barbara was a champion camogie player who once ran a country pub and when she was married to Ben Sands she travelled the world with the famous Sands Family musical group. Norman left school at 14 with nothing more than the 3 R's but since then he has gone back into education and now in his 70's he has accumulated 7 university degrees and he is not finished yet! Colum visits Prehen House in Londonderry to hear the story of former resident Baron Von Scheffler; the archive dip takes us back to 1971 where we are about to say goodbye, not to the pound but to the shillings and pence; plus todays reflection by Wilma Kenny.
