Reports emerged over the weekend of a dog having part of its ear cut off outside a shopping centre in Bangor. Belfast Live reported that Cole, a 5 year old Labrador, was tied up outside the store alongside another Labrador and Springer Spaniel while his owner was inside shopping. Vinny spoke to Robin Ballentine who owns the dogs and he told him what happened.
Also on the programme, it should have been a showcase of mixed martial arts excellence but UFC 229 in Las Vegas went from being a spectacular night of MMA to one of the most controversial events in the sport's history. Violent skirmishes broke out following Khabib Nurmagomedov's victory over Conor McGregor. This isn't the first time that there have been ugly scenes that have involved Conor McGregor, earlier this year he was involved in a backstage melee at a New York City arena in which he was caught on camera hurling a hand truck at a bus full of fighters. He was sentenced to community service. Is McGregor becoming bad for the sport? Vinny got the views of commentators Brendan Mulgrew and Chris Suitor.
And, just what does MI5 let its informants do in the name of national security? It has been revealed that the security service allows its informants legal cover to participate in crimes that could extend to murder, torture and sexual assaults. Vinny spoke to Spiked online legal editor, Luke Gittos and Brian Pelan, editor of View, a social affairs magazine.
