RHI Inquiry and NI Ambulance paramedic shortage
The RHI Inquiry - Sam McBride looks at what to expect this week as Arlene Foster and key former DUP SpAds face Inquiry panel.
It's the start of a long week for the DUP with a succession of senior figures lined up to give evidence on their role in the debacle. It starts with a big day for Arlene Foster today. We'll hear the DUP leader being questioned about what she knew about the role of her former Special Adviser Andrew Crawford, and allegations that he delayed cost controls on the order of the party. Stephen talks to Newsletter political editor Sam McBride.
Also on the programme, last week on the Nolan Show we brought you the story of a listener waiting 12 minutes for someone to answer the phone, when she dialled 999 for an ambulance for a young man - she had found having a seizure by the side of the road. Now this programme can reveal further concerns about the service. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service aims to provide the Northern Trust Area on a Saturday night through to Sunday morning 12 Emergency Crews. That covers the local council areas of Antrim, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Carrickfergus, Coleraine, Cookstown, Larne, Magherafelt, Moyle and Newtownabbey. Last weekend it was able to provide only 5 A&E crews. On Saturday the NIAS had to call in support from the Private and Voluntary ambulance services. Stephen spoke to Brian McNeil, Director of Operations from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
All that and more on the biggest show in the country.
