West Bank village demolition

The United Nations, the EU and Britain have all called on the Israeli government to abandon its plans to demolish a Palestinian village in the West Bank.

The United Nations, the EU and Britain have all called on the Israeli government to abandon its plans to demolish a Palestinian village in the West Bank. There have been clashes between Israeli soldiers and Bedouin villagers in Khan al-Ahmar after bulldozers moved into the area. Vinny spoke to Seth Frantzman, a journalist for the Jerusalem Post, and got the views of Rev David McIlveen and Lord Kilclooney.

Also on the programme, there are reports this morning that the Defence Minister Gavin Williamson is backing an amnesty for all troubles related offences - that would cover loyalists, republicans and state forces. Vinny spoke to Peter Taylor, documentary maker and author of numerous books on the Troubles.

Plus, what would you do if you found out someone was cheating on their partner? A woman in Iowa in the US learned from a fast food delivery driver that her boyfriend was cheating on her. As a thoughtful surprise, the woman had ordered food to be delivered to her boyfriend. Afterwards she received a call from the delivery driver to say he spotted her boyfriend through the window in just his boxers along with a naked woman. Is this an example of people sticking their nose in when it's not wanted? Or is it morally the right thing to do? Vinny spoke to commentators Andrea McVeigh and Emma Woolf.

And, the Renewable Heat Incentive Inquiry has started its summer recess after 82 days of hearings. It will resume in September. During those 82 days Sir Patrick Coghlin and his team have asked the burning questions of politicians, civil servants, SPADs, and experts - and some of the testimony has been interesting to say say the least. To help us recap on the highlights of the Inquiry so far the Newsletter's Sam McBride joined Vinny.
