Women in politics, Madonna at 60, health inequality, favourite parent

As Madonna turns 60, the programme looks at her influence on women in music. Plus a look at women's health needs, and what to do when your child favours one parent over the other.

Conservative Party chair, Brandon Lewis, on getting more women into politics.

Madonna turns 60 next week. Hailed as the 'Queen of Pop' since the eighties, we ask how important she has been for women in music, as part our Powerlist: Women in Music series with journalists Sylvia Patterson and Sophie Wilkinson.

A new report published this week by the British Medical Association calls for a more effective healthcare system to address women's needs. It says in general women and girls have greater health and social care requirements in comparison to men across their lifetime and this needs to be reflected in the health provision. Jenni is joined by Dr Anthea Mowat, Chair of the BMA Representative Body, Dr Sue Mann, Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Professor Nicole Westmarland, Director of the Durham Centre for Research into Violence and Abuse at Durham University.

And what do you do when your child favours one parent over the other? It's a normal part of child development and often temporary but it can still hurt. So how do you handle it? Jenni speaks to Katie Argent, head of Child Psychotherapy at The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and Claire Grace whose five year old daughter prefers her, over her husband.
