In a programme first broadcast in December 2017 and repeated for Hear Her Day, the new Dr Who, Jodie Whittaker, joins 6 Music as one of our Wise Women to curate an evening of programming and music choices. In this hour Jodie has raided the vast 麻豆社 archive to select an hour of live music.
Jodie kicks off with a set from last year's 6 Music Festival as Daughter brought Bristol's Motion venue to standstill with a stark and intimate set. Next up Jodie chooses a recent live session, recorded for 6 Music Live at Maida Vale in October as Alt J played live. And then, to round things off, Jodie selects a live session by one of her favourite bands - Augustines, recorded for Steve Lamacq in 2014.
Jodie Whittaker is one of the UK's most acclaimed actresses, who was unveiled as the thirteenth Doctor in 2017. Jodie is an in-demand, funny, inspiring and super-smart actress and brought loads of wit, strength and warmth to her evening of programming. She graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2005 with a gold medal in acting. Since then she has worked continually in film, television and theatre. Her other film credits include Venus, Attack The Block, One Day, Black Sea, and Adult Life Skills, which she executive produced.
