Sinn Fein in border poll call after it was revealed that prime minister Theresa May reportedly expressed doubts about winning a vote.
Sinn Fein has insisted that a border poll must be called with immediate effect. Yesterday the Times newspaper reported the Prime Minister had doubts that the government would win a referendum on maintaining Northern Ireland's place within the UK. It said Mrs May had been discussing Brexit plans with Jacob Rees-Mogg when she made the comments. The newspaper said Mr Rees-Mogg had expressed his view that the government would win a future border poll, just as it won the 2014 independence referendum in Scotland. The Times quoted Mrs May as saying: "I would not be as confident as you. That's not a risk I'm prepared to take. We cannot be confident on the politics of the situation, on how it plays out." Vinny spoke to Sinn Fein's Declan Kearney, UUP leader Robin Swann and got the views of commentators Malachi O'Doherty and Jude Collins.
Also on the programme, clothing store New Look has come under fire for charging an extra 15 per cent for some plus-size clothing - compared to identical items in its standard range. Shopper Maria Wassell, from Kent, is featured in many papers, complaining because she found a pair of striped trousers in the Curves range cost 拢22.99 compared to 拢19.99 in the main collection. So should you pay more for plus-size clothes? Vinny got the views of commentators Niamh Horan and the editor of Slink Magazine, Rivkie Baum.
And, this week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Research has shown that two thirds of us experience a mental health problem in our lifetime. PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is one of those problems. Former Army Colonel Philip Ingram from Northern Ireland is a PTSD survivor who's speaking out about his experiences. He's been telling Vinny his story.
