Late Night Woman's Hour: Leaving Home
Frank and funny conversation with Lauren Laverne and guests. Aida Edemariam and Sali Hughes tell Lauren about their experiences of leaving home.
Both Lauren's guests this month left home at fifteen. Aida Edemariam left her home in Addis Ababa after winning a scholarship to a British boarding school and Sali Hughes left Wales to come to London, seeking a career in the media. Here, they talk about the dangers and determination involved in turning your back on where you come from, and the ways they've reconnected with home in later life.
