A unique hospital ship offering life-saving surgery sets sail for the poorest of the poor in Africa. It has just one year to do the impossible - to provide the care these people cannot get any other way.
Benin is home to Christianity, Islam and Voodoo, a religion where some believe curses cause monstrous deformities like 20-year-old Elisabeth's facial tumour, which is so large she hides in the shadows. Also, Ramani comes with huge overgrowth of his facial bones, mother-of-six Vivienne arrives with a life-threatening jaw tumour and Elie who has localised gigantism of his left foot and leg.
