Another chance to hear Jodie Whittaker choosing some favourite music on the theme of travel. First broadcast on 24th December 2017.

The new Dr Who - Jodie Whittaker joined 6 Music at Christmas as one of our Wise Women, curating an evening of programming. To kick things off, Jodie selected an hour of music about travel, including some of her favourite tracks from Elbow, First Aid Kit and Foy Vance.

Jodie is one of the UK's most acclaimed actresses who was unveiled as the 13th Dr earlier this year after the Men's Wimbledon Final on Sunday 16 July. Jodie is an in-demand, funny, inspiring and super-smart actress and will bring loads of wit, strength and warmth to her evening of programming. She graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2005 with a gold medal in Acting. Since then she has worked continually in Film, Television and Theatre. Her TV credits include the critically acclaimed ITV drama Broadchurch (for which she was nominated for Best Actress for the RTS Television Awards), Emmy award-winning Black Mirror, Sky 1's The Smoke, 麻豆社's Cranford, in which she starred opposite Judi Dench and Imelda Staunton, The Night Watch (麻豆社), The Accused (麻豆社), and Tess of the D'Urbervilles (麻豆社).

Her other film credits include Venus, Attack The Block, One Day, Black Sea, and most recently Adult Life Skills.

A listener to 麻豆社 Radio 6 Music, she personally asked to join Shaun Keaveny for her first broadcast interview after being announced as the new Dr. Jodie said "It feels completely overwhelming; as a feminist, as a woman, as an actor, as a human, as someone who wants to continually push themselves and challenge themselves, and not be boxed in by what you're told you can and can't be. It feels incredible".
