Money Box Live: The Gender Pay Gap
With the gender pay gap reporting deadline fast approaching for companies with 250+ employees, Louise Cooper discusses what we know so far and why we are no closer to closing it.
There are just two weeks left for any company employing more than 250 staff to publicly declare their Gender Pay Gap. So far, barely a quarter of companies have done so.
Even so, some of the revelations have been stark. Just a few days ago HSBC bank revealed its mean gender pay gap was 60%, the largest reported so far by any major UK firm.
So what have these disclosures told us about the earnings of Britain's working women?
