Join Mark Stephen and Euan McIlwraith for the latest outdoor activities from Shetland to the Borders, plus the key stories for those who live and work in the countryside.

Ringlink Scotland's Land Based Pre-apprentice scheme has grown in success over the past few years and was so popular last year, it was oversubscribed. Mark meets one of the graduate apprentices on a farm near Edzell in Angus.

Euan finds out how Andrew McCormick has found his first year as Chair of the NFUS at their 2018 conference.

Mark visits community owned Castle Loch in Lochmaben near Lockerbie.

Mull has become famous for its successful Sea Eagle population. Euan and Mark meet up with Dave Sexton from the RSPB to try and spot one.

The Big Farmland Bird Count is underway and Euan has been on a bird identification day held by The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust to help farmers know what to look out for.

Last week Scottish cabinet secretary for environment, climate change and land reform Roseanna Cunningham gave the green light for The North West Mull Community Woodland Company to buy the island of Ulva off the coast of Mull. The island is currently home to six people and was put up for sale by its current owner last year. Mark and Euan head across to Mull to speak to some of those behind the buyout about what their next steps are and why they feel it is important for the community to own Ulva.

Mark takes a walk up Mormond Hill, a Strichen landmark with an interesting past and an important place in the heart of locals.
