14/02/2018 - 'Why would they go to the garage'

Decorator Dave would like a record played for all the hard working guys in filling stations who will be run off their feet from 5.30pm today.

Decorator Dave would like a record played 'for all the hard working guys in filling stations who will be run off their feet from half past five today'. Sean doesn't understand what that means. Vincent the taxi driver has bad memories of Valentine's Day. He got his girlfriend a card, chocolates and bought her dinner. Then she dumped him in the taxi on the way home. Sean says at least he got a lift.
Sean's been reading the old book about Irish boxers that someone sent him at the weekend. There's a mention of Terry Milligan who worked in shorts. The Rathfriland Consultant suggests Sean go home and read a romantic novel and think on his youth. Did Sammy Pavis the Linfield footballer also play snooker? Or was that his brother Norman? Music from The Beatles, John Paul Young, Turtles, Merle Haggard, Bobby Vinton, Louis Armstrong and more.
