Live broadcast from the home of leading suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, how suffrage campaigners would view women's equality today, what having the vote means to three young women.
100 years since women were granted the right to vote we broadcast live from the Pankhurst Centre - the house in Manchester where leading suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst lived and campaigned. We hear from Gail Heath, Chief Executive of the Pankhurst Trust and suffrage historians Elizabeth Crawford and Diane Atkinson about the women who fought for the vote - how would suffrage campaigners view the movement for equality today? What does having the vote means to Blessie, Rachel and Beth - three young women who become eligible to vote this year. And the modern day campaigners - how far would they go in the name of their cause? Activists Caroline Criado Perez and Akeela Ahmed discuss. And we talk to the Prime Minister Theresa May - would she have been a suffragette or suffragist?
