Ten years after the financial crash, the programme meets some of the people in financial meltdown back then to find out if things are any better.
Inside Out East is back with a programme on debt. It is ten years since the money markets went into meltdown, banks went bust and the country was in crisis. Everybody blamed everybody else for the mess, but what was often overlooked in the lurid headlines was what it all meant for the average person. We meet some of those hit by the crash in the east and find out if life has got any better.
And we go to Wisbech to find out if the town that pays too much council tax. The council tackles big expenditure and has low-value housing stock, but residents pay a massive council tax bill compared to other places across the country and seem to have much fewer services.
Plus the debt time bomb waiting to happen.
